International Potluck Dinner

This year’s International Dinner is quickly approaching!

The dinner will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from  5:30p.m. – 7:00p.m., it will be a potluck affair.

This means that  we are asking all of our attending C.P. Smith families to dig into  your family recipes to create and share one special recipe from  your own cultural heritage.

A dish with a serving size of a  minimum of 6-8 people is ideal. Due to the nature of the dinner, it is very important to receive an RSVP indicating how many family  members will be attending and what category of food you would  like to share.

Food will be served from 5:30pm-6:30pm and the dinner itself will  end at 7:00pm.

Shopping Extravaganza, Math Night and more....

Kids Only Shopping Extravaganza  -  December 9th

This is a PTO event that all students look forward to every year!  Students have the opportunity to shop for their family members for the holidays, no matter what you celebrate!  Items are priced at 25 cents, 50 cents, $1.00 and $2.00.  The excitement of the kids as they buy gifts for their family can be felt by everyone!  It's super fun!  If you have time to help out at this event please sign up in the office or contact Nadeen St. Pierre at 860-5126 or Karen Ruben at 315-369-8966.

We are still in need of LOTS of donations.  Anything from soaps, picture frames, knick knacks, etc.  Donations can be accepted until Friday, December 6.

Math Night

November 21 from 6:30 - 7:30 CP Smith will be buzzing with math thinking!  Come with your kids and discover the joy of math.

Join us for a family-oriented evening of fun for all ages.  Math night features a number of stations, run by teachers, parents, and student volunteers.  Each station focuses on a game, puzzle, or other activity that celebrates mathematics.

We still need volunteers to help make the night a success!  Run a math station, help greet visitors, or just bring the family.  To volunteer, sign up at http://bit.ly/17XKJRM Math Night Volunteer Sign Up
or contact parents Neil and Tiffany Delaney ( tiffany.delaney@uvm.edu ) or 651-0182 for more information.

This is another enrichment activity that needs volunteers to make it work!  Don't worry, there is no math you can't do!

YOUR HOLIDAY SHOPPING CAN EARN THE SMITH PTO MONEY

Did you know you can earn money for the Smith PTO just by shopping the sites you already shop?  There are two easy ways.

The first is through Amazon.com  If you access the Amazon site through our blog (in the left hand column) then any purchases made will have a percentage of the purchase go straight to the PTO.

The second ways is through "e BoxTops".  There are over 400 stores included in this site.  Stores you may already shop with on a regular basis like, expedia, Best Buy, Crate and Barrel, Gap and iTunes, just to name a few.  You just need to enroll at  https://www.boxtops4education.com/marketplace

Just choose a store, click on its logo and shop as usual. There are special links to participating stores that enable our school to be credited with eBoxTops® when you make a purchase. Remember, this is at no additional cost to you.  Any eBoxTops® earned will be automatically added to our school’s next Box Tops check.  Just like clipped Box Tops, eBoxTops® are worth 10¢ apiece.
